2025: An AMAZING Year – Thank you!
December 16, 2025
2025 was truly an amazing year for us. One of the busiest, and one of the best – if not THE best ever.
We are beyond grateful.
We’d like to take a minute to thank each and every member of our community for making what we do possible. Without you we wouldn’t have a community – and we’ll never forget that.
Take a minute and see what you made possible below. And be sure to join the meetup group or our mailing list to stay informed moving forward.
We hope to see you in 2026! Happy Holidays!

January
January kicked off with our now-famous Spacewalk event. We “sold out” the IMAX theater and more than 45,000 watched the AI panel discussion on YouTube.

February
More than 200 joined us at IBM as the great John Willis delivered an amazing talk and signed books for attendees.

March
We hosted our first-ever AI conference in Durham, NC – and it was unbelievable! More than 2,100 registered and 1,600+ attended from all over the world.

April
We came back strong in April as Mark Hinkle delivered a fantastic presentation at Bandwidth in the RTP. We hosted a networking social after, which was extremely well attended.

May
200+ attended the monthly meetup at Fidelity Investments. The great Brent Laster delivered a wonderful hour-long presentation on “AI 3-in-1: Agents, RAG, and Local Models”. It was substantive and jam-packed with applicable information and demos, something attendees really appreciated.

June
So many attended June’s meetup featuring William Hill of NVIDIA we had to live stream it. More than 200 attendees were on hand at IBM’s RTP campus.

August
We came back strong after a July / summer break. Taylor Desseyn, VP of Global Community at Torc.dev, delivered a 15-minute overview of the current technology jobs landscape titled “Tech Hiring Isn’t Dead”, then he moderated a panel discussion with hiring managers and employment thought leaders from Fidelity Investments, Bandwidth, and Randstad. More than 200 attended.

September
More than 250 joined us (400 registered) for our first-ever meetup at The Armory in downtown Durham. The topic was a unique one – Agentic AI, Interoperability, and Automation: Lessons from the Past, Visions for the Future. Dr. Chris Hazard, CTO & co-founder of HowSo, was the featured speaker and did an amazing job.

September
We designed and made available a brand-new meetup t-shirt – just for meetup attendees! The shirt was extremely well received and has proven to be very popular.

October
We hosted “lucky” year #13 of the All Things Open conference. More than 6,500 from all over the world registered and 200+ speakers and sessions were featured.

November
Building on our ATO momentum we hosted not one, but two meetups in the month. Both featured world-class speakers and content, and both were extremely well attended.

December
We hosted our final 2025 meetup on Tuesday evening, December 2 on the campus of Lexis Nexis. Brandon Mathis of This Dot Labs delivered a wonderful talk looking at AI-powered coding tools and techniques to a packed house.

January 2026
We’ll keep the world-class education and networking opportunities going in the New Year with our annual Spacewalk event at Marbles Museum’s IMAX Theater in downtown Raleigh. It’s a unique and memorable venue, and the programming should be tremendous!
