A conversation with Phil Yanov: Someone you should know

We recently sat down with Phil Yanov at Open Source 101 in Columbia, SC.

Phil is a long-time technology thought leader and one of the most respected and well-known voices in the South Carolina tech community. He’s the founder of the Tech After Five networking series as well as the Tech After Five podcast, and he’s someone we’ve partnered with numerous times to promote our events.

Phil recently hosted his 568th Tech After Five event, which we find to be simply incredible. He’s currently hosting these events in Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, and Little Rock, AR, and he’s looking to expand to cities like Nashville, TN and to states like Ohio and Pennsylvania (contact him if you’d like to help or host an event yourself).  The meeting series started about 12 years ago and each hosts 50-125 tech professionals.

The fast-moving discussion was engaging and illuminating, and we spent much of the time expressing our admiration and respect for his work and career.
