Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team 2024 impact report: Closing in on our 1 billion people goal

See how 685,000 OpenStreetMap volunteer mappers impacted 915 million people.

We’re thrilled to unveil our 2023-2024 Annual Impact Report, showcasing our achievements enabled by your outstanding support. Your belief in our mission and projects has empowered communities worldwide to map their realities and drive change. Together, we’ve made a significant impact on millions in vulnerable regions.

This year, your support enabled 685,000 OpenStreetMap volunteer mappers to map areas home to 915.8 million at-risk people. Our goal to map regions home to one billion people is in sight.

Furthermore, we trained 9,792 individuals across sectors, and our data saw 111,500 downloads from the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) between July 2023 and June 2024.

Moving forward, we’re committed to mapping every vulnerable region, providing data-driven solutions to local communities, and ensuring over 1 billion people gain access to crucial information by 2026.

We encourage you to read our Annual Impact Report for stories of transformation and data-driven insights. Your contribution continues to be instrumental in our mission.

Together, we’re ensuring every voice is heard, and no one is left behind.
