Taking place Sunday, October 13
JOIN OVER 500 ATTENDEES FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD
The 2019 inclusion event will take place Sunday, October 13 at the Raleigh Convention Center. It will again feature traditional talks and group discussions around a variety of predetermined inclusion subtopics. In addition, Jennifer Cloer will screen the second film in her widely acclaimed Chasing Grace series, Progress: The Power of Community. Subject matter experts, community and company leaders, and technologists of all types will attend and participate. Audience participation and input will again be a focus, as it was in 2018.
THE (TENTATIVE) SCHEDULE:
12:00 noon – 5:00 pm ET: Registration & Check-In, Raleigh Convention Center
1:00 – 1:10 pm ET: Welcome/Thank-You’s/Opening Statements
1:10 – 2:30 pm ET: Stand-alone 10 minute talks
1:10 – 1:20: The Barriers to Entry I Face as a Mom in Tech
1:25 – 1:35: So you want your daughter to be a Technologist…what now?
1:40 – 1:50: Open Office Culture Shift: How D&I Builds Better Tech Teams
1:55 – 2:05: I Came Here to Meet 10 Black People: Normalizing my own presence in tech
2:10 – 2:20: Identity Expression: Coming Out of the Work Closet
2:25 – 2:35: The Value of Old People in Technology
2:35 – 2:45: Networking break
3:45 – 4:00: Networking break
4:00 – 5:00: Discussion groups – Smaller group discussions of topics like recruiting & hiring, race, The Power of Community film, etc. Designed to encourage interaction and dialogue.
5:00 – 5:15: Final networking break
5:15 – 5:30: Final comments and wrap-up
5:30 – 6:00: Post-event networking social
