This will be our final meetup for 2022!! We’re working hard to make it amazing.

Talk Title: What would Santa’s eCommerce tech stack be?

Talk Abstract:
While eCommerce traffic grows with each holiday season, nobody makes more deliveries than the north pole. Normally this is not an issue as magic handles the heavy lifting, but this year there has been a glitch. Santa has tasked his elves with building a tech replacement. They will need a system that is highly versatile and can scale. We’ll look at designing a modern solution with APIs, microservices, and the cloud to save the holidays for everyone, including the elves who want to focus on building toys instead of dealing with downtime, issues, or on-call alerts.

Bio:
James Luterek is the Head of Developer Advocacy for Elastic Path. With two decades of experience in retail & software he has been leading software development, architecture, presales, consulting, marketing & training across the americas. Before joining Elastic Path, he spent his time advising startups to Fortune 100 companies including Ulta Beauty, PGA Tour, Rogers Communications, and NBC Universal on commerce implementations for custom builds and off-the-shelf software packages including Magento and commercetools. James has degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York.
