Our April 4 meetup will focus on an extremely important and engaging topic – Developer Tools for Web Performance.
Sia Karamalegos, a developer, international conference speaker, and writer currently working on web performance at Shopify will deliver our featured talk. Many networking opportunities with the RTP tech community will also be available.
Lots of (free) swag will be available at this meetup, as always, including a limited number of ATO 2022 t-shirts and hats, as well as stickers and cool technology (mechanical keyboards, etc.) Food and beverages will be served as well, courtesy of our amazing hosts IBM.

START TIME
Venue doors officially open at 6:00 pm (you can arrive earlier if you like), live programing begins at 6:30 pm ET sharp. We’ll begin the evening with a few community announcements, then we’ll quickly move to our speakers.

- Enter IBM campus from Miami Boulevard and Cornwallis Road,
- Follow signs for IBM Software Group Main Lobby B500 and take third left (DEVELOPMENT LANE) toward Main Lobby 500.
- Park into the Visitor Parking lot which is in the front of the B500. You will be escorted from the building entrance/lobby.

Sia Karamalegos, developer, international conference speaker, and writer, currently working on web performance at Shopify.
Sia Karamalegos is a developer, international conference speaker, and writer, currently working on web performance at Shopify. She is a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, a Cloudinary Media Developer Expert, and a Stripe Community Expert. She co-organizes the Eleventy Meetup which won the 2021 Jammies Award for Outstanding Community Meetup. She is the founder and lead developer for Clio + Calliope Web Development and was recognized in the Silicon Bayou 100, the 100 most influential and active people in tech and entrepreneurship in Louisiana.
She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in chemical engineering and received her MBA from Harvard Business School. When she’s not coding, speaking, or consulting, Sia likes to write short stories and dabble in charcoal figure drawing. She’s also an avid endurance athlete.

Performance is important. Tooling can be hard. Do flame charts and waterfalls intimidate you? Come learn how to use common performance tools such as Chrome DevTools, webpagetest.org, and real user data with the Chrome User Experience report.
