May 5 Meetup Summary – 100 Attend at Wake Tech RTP
May 15, 2026
Our May 5 meetup was tremendous as 100+ attended at Wake Tech’s RTP campus.
Dr. Lisa Bradley, a distinguished cybersecurity expert and visionary leader currently serving as Senior Director of Product & Application Security at Dell Technologies, was the speaker and she did an amazing job.
The topic was an important one – What Enterprises Look for in OSS Under the EU Cyber Resilience Act — and How Maintainers Can Deliver It. The subtitle was Turning EU Cyber Resilience Act requirements into actionable guidance for open-source maintainers.
The topic was important because many companies in the RTP and surrounding areas, and in the ATO community, offer software products that no longer stay within the U.S. market, especially in the open source ecosystem. And because the EU Cyber Resilience Act makes cybersecurity a legal requirement, the penalty for non-compliance can be severe.
The audience was engaged throughout and an extensive Q&A session followed Dr. Bradley’s presentation.
Dr. Bradley’s slides can be found here.
The next ATO meetup is scheduled for Wednesday evening, June 24 at Cisco’s RTP campus, building #10. It’s FREE to attend but an RSVP is required. Details and an RSVP link can be found here.
