Earlier this year, in what amounted to its most significant digital upgrade in a decade, the State of North Carolina moved a number of disparate, unconnected agency websites to a unified Drupal platform with a new brand and a new CMS. The platform was built using the OpenPublic Drupal distribution and hosted on OpenShift, Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud.
In this session, William Hylton from the Digital Services Director of the state’s Office of Information Technology Services is joined by Felicia Haynes of Phase2, one of the state’s technology partner in the venture, to discuss how open technology played an important role in centralizing North Carolina’s digital presence. We’ll explain how the choice to build with OpenPublic on OpenShift enhanced the platform’s features while accelerating the project and keeping it on budget.
For state governments looking to unify departments within a single CMS while preserving their flexibility and agility, this is definitely not a session to miss.
